The About pagThe Metrocentres initiative has positioned them as a leader in not only promoting mental health and wellbeing for their employees but also in creating a safe and enjoyable environment for consumers.

Metrocentre Gateshead

Metrocentre's initiative to promote positive mental health among its entire workforce has established it as a leader in not only supporting the well-being of employees but also in creating a safe and enjoyable environment for customers.

By equipping their team with essential skills and knowledge, they have nurtured an atmosphere in which staff feel empowered to address mental health issues effectively, both for themselves and for others.
The training programs were rolled out in phases, ensuring that each staff member received personalised attention and resources to enhance their understanding and capabilities.

The MHFA England Courses provided foundational skills in identifying and responding to mental health challenges, while the New Guard Safety Champions Training focused on proactive measures and creating a culture of safety.
As a result, Metrocentre has seen a significant increase in staff engagement and satisfaction. Employees report feeling more confident in handling mental health situations and appreciate the organisation's dedication to their well-being. This, in turn, has translated into a more positive and supportive atmosphere for customers, who benefit from interacting with a team that is attentive and empathetic.
